Cheryl returns to Sand Point – helps promote the community & seafood brand

Taking the fresh, wild flavor of Aleutia salmon from one of the world’s most remote places to buyers around the world is no easy feat. Cheryl, our office manager, just makes it seem that way.

Married to husband Austin for nearly nine years, she is a mom of three and the voice on the other end of the line when you call the Aleutia office. We thought you might like to get to know her so we asked her a few questions.

How long have you worked at Aleutia?
I have worked here for eight years off and on. I worked one season as production manager and have worked in the office for several years.

What brought you to Sand Point?
I grew up here, though I spent 13 years in California. Returning to my hometown has been better than I could have imagined. It’s a great place to raise children.

What’s your favorite salmon dish?
I love fish pie.

What’s your favorite thing about Sand Point?
The people. It’s a community with interesting and hardworking people.

Name one thing you like about working for Aleutia.
I like the opportunity to be involved in the fishing community. I have had the chance to get to know and help people because of Aleutia.
